“Meet our Partners Campaign”: Enviva

In STREAMS, Enviva will measure and assess the circularity of STREAMS’ life cycle by integrating circularity indicators (Work package 7).

Meet the faces behind the project

Vasileia Vasilaki is Sustainability Lead at Enviva.

In STREAMS, Enviva’s activities will focus on measuring and assessing circularity by integrating indicators for resource inflows, outflows, waste, emissions, water, energy, and economic factors. Adhering to the ISO 59020 Standard, the team is developing a methodology to evaluate the circularity of STREAMS  supply chains and products, as well as the impact on sustainable economic, environmental and social development. Using a systemic approach, Enviva will assess circularity, social, environmental, and economic dimensions, resulting in harmonised indicators based on life cycle assessment (LCA), life cycle costing (LCC), social LCA tasks, and circularity metrics. This work aims to create a robust framework for evaluating and enhancing circularity within the battery manufacturing industry.

Eniviva is committed to collaborating with partners and supporting STREAMS technologies, to enhance Europe’s strategic autonomy in the global battery manufacturing industry, reduce dependency on imported raw materials, and promote resilient and competitive solutions.

We are excited to collaborate with our fellow partners in the STREAMS project to drive innovation in the battery manufacturing industry. By integrating comprehensive circularity and sustainability assessments and adhering to the highest standards, we aim to ensure that the STREAMS technologies are sustainable and align with circular economy principles. Together, we are setting the foundation for a sustainable, robust, competitive, and strategically independent battery manufacturing industry in Europe.’ – Vasileia Vasilaki, Sustainability Lead
